thieves entered my apt thru a broken window twice. should the landlord compensate me?
maitenece staff was suppose to fix my window last year after my apt was broken into but they never did. my apt was broken into again last week. about 3000.00 in electronics were stolen and they completely trashed my apt. is the landlord responsible. and should the mgt compensate me
my renters was ins was added in with rent. but i was not renewd when i renewd my lease. ( i didnt know that) staff has changed so much, so there is record of my lease renewal but not of the ins. I had a desktop comp, printer, fax, 2 digital cams, ps2 that had about 35 games and all of the gifts i had my kids for christmas
Do you not have renter’s insurance? If so then let them pay your claim and go after the LL on the maintenance issue.
If not then take them to small claims court to PERHAPS recover part of your loss.
Compensation from either source will be the depreciated value.

You have been told to withhold rent by several posters now and that is very bad advice unless you want to find a new home within 30 days.
