How do I fix/clean my digital camera?
I accidentally got some grainy stuff in my camera a week ago, and it works fine except for a slight grinding noise when the lens goes in and out (btw, if anyone knows how to clean that out, that would be great, I’ve tried different makeshift tools but none really fit in the small cracks between the lens and camera). However, of the two little shutter doors, only one slides over the lens now. It’s not a huge problem, but it’s seriously annoying and the lens might get scratched while it’s off. My camera is a Samsung s730. All answers are greatly appreciated.
This is a problem you should fix. If the lens doesn’t get covered completely due to one of the doors not closing it can easily get dirty or damaged. A damaged lens means buying a new camera because the repair is so pricey.
You could try using a syringe to blow any dirt out I suppose. I wouldn’t advise any liquid cleaners as they would potentially create a lot of damage too. You should probably take it to a camera shop to see if they can get in there and clean it.
