What is the difference between the 1st gen itouch and the 2nd gen?

I want to buy an itouch but i am not sure if i should waste my money on the 2nd gen, or just get the 1st gen, but the 2nd might be a better ipod…. i dont know so help!

i also had the same problem but one of my friends just got a 2nd gen itouch and said that it has an inbuilt speaker, it’s lighter, it has volume controls on the side, has better battery life and has a rounded edges. sorry i cant guarantee it but hope it helps.
